Monday was St.Patricks day, and to celebrate, we kept Keegan home from school and went to teh aquarium, where they have beach named Emerald Beach, and emerald is a shade of green...so it was all in the name of good ole' St.Pat.
Honestly, I forgot about St Patricks day until I was reading another blog....oops. Nothing green going on here. Although with the dollar being so weak against the yen, we sent more green than what I had hoped. With the current rate of 98 yen to 1 USD, it costs us about $20 more to get 10,000yen, which is how much we took, and spent Monday.
Oh well, it was all in the name of a good time, and that is what we had, a good time. Thomas was off work, and we hadn't seen much of him in a long time. So I let Keegan cut class, (don't tell Mr. Ishikawa) and we headed north. The weather wasnt all that awesome, so we didnt really know where we were going until we got there. Pineapple Park if it was raining, and the Aquarium if it wasn't. So, as you can see, we beat the rain.
After the aquarium we were all hungry. We had heard of a little place up there called Pizza in the sky. We had a few sets of sketchy directions, and thought, why not give it a shot. So, after driving up. up, up the narrowest windiest road ever, we finally located the gem. It is a pizza place (of course), but not the traditional type we are accustomed to. This one was in a house type building. You could eat indoors or outside. The dining area indoors was a large open area with the Japanese style tables and you sat on the floor, same for outside. We chose to sit outdoors, so I wouldn't feel so bad that my kids were the loudest there. The food was delicious and the staff were awesome. Our server played with Datyon the entire time, so it was nice for me to be able to eat most of a meal without having to tend to him. Oh, and look at the pics for the tiny chair they brought out for him. Isn't that just the cutest thing ever?
