Walking and Hives

Yay!!! Dayton started walking this week! He took his first steps last Sunday, and this video was taken this Sunday. He walks better without shoes, but we were at the park, so I made him keep them on.

Dayton also had an ear infection this past week. As some of you know he has an appointment with ENT to discuss getting tubes in his ears. He has failed three hearing tests, and has a slight hearing loss due to fluid that just wont go away. I took him to the doc Thursday and they prescribed him Amoxil. Well, fast forward to Friday night and we find out he is allergic to penicillin. He was covered in hives. I called the on call physician, and as long as he wasn't having trouble breathing, we were told to wait and come in Sat morning. Oh, and while I was on the phone with the DR, I managed to let him fall off my bed. He was ok though I am sure the Dr was questioning my parenting abilities. "Yes Dr, he has hives, but he is breathing and acting fine, oh wait, he just fell off the bed!"

oh, that is so sweet. It's such a big milestone and then they start growing up even faster. Hope he feels better. I have been lucky with my kids. They have only had a couple of ear infections and no mention of tubes.

Wow, what a busy week, he's pretty steady on his feet for just getting going! So cute!

Sorry to hear about his ear infections and allergic reaction. Poor guy and poor Mom! Hope they can come up with something that helps with the chronic infections.

He's growing so fast. Tubes were one of the best things we ever did. Michael was sick all the time until at 18 months they put in tubes. He has hardly ever been sick in the past 10 years.
