It is now the 5th here, but still the 4th in the states, so I don't think I am too late. We hope you are all having a happy and safe celebration somewhere.
Kadena Air Base held a celebration, AmericaFest, this year on the flightline. There were static displays(jets), live bands, carnival type games, inflatable houses, food vendors, and, of course, fireworks. Yesterday it was only open to SOFA status (meaning Military related folks here) and their families. Today it is open to the locals.
The inside of a KC135, which is the same jet we flew back to Kadena on from Meridian. The jet is used for aerial refueling missions, but is sometimes used to MedEvac people who are sick or injured. This one was set up with injured dummies to show their setup.
Braden playing one of the carnival games. 300yen per game. Thats $3!!
Eve6 was the headliner band. Dayton enjoyed it, he bounced his head the entire time they played.
A family shot courtesy of the tripod and remote release. My shiny face may blind you...it was hot and I was sweaty.
And then the fireworks.
